The Hellenic Federation of New Jersey  Scholarship Committee is dedicated to supporting students of Hellenic heritage and those committed to advancing Greek culture, values, and academic excellence. Our purpose is to recognize outstanding achievement, encourage higher education, and empower the next generation to lead with integrity, service, and pride in their community. Through this scholarship, we aim to honor the traditions that shaped us while investing in promising scholars who will carry these ideals forward in their academic pursuits and future careers.

​​HFNJ Scholarship Eligibility & Criteria 
  1. ​Must accepted as a full time student or an active full time student at an accredited institution of higher learning pursuing a four-year degree or graduate degree. 
  2. Must be (1) a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent of the U.S. and a resident of the State of New Jersey or (2) a Greek or Cypriot national studying in an accredited New Jersey college or university with a valid F-1 visa.
  3. Must be of Hellenic descent (defined as one of the parents of the applicant being of Hellenic national origin). 
  4. If the application is for a summer program in Greece or Cyprus, the applicant must be attending the program for college credits that will be accepted by his/her college or university. 
  5. Decisions will be made based on merit and/or financial need.
  6. All who meet eligibility may apply, however, preference will be given to first-time applicants.

Instructions to Applicants
1. STEP Fill in Personal Information 
All applications and supporting materials must be submitted electronically through our Online Application below. 
2. Upload Transcripts & Scores 
Submit academic transcripts. High school seniors must submit all high school transcripts including SAT/ACT scores. First-year undergraduates must submit undergraduate transcripts as well as high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores. Other undergraduates must submit all college/university transcripts.
3. Upload Recommendations 
​Submit two letters of recommendation on official letterhead from your guidance counselor, academic adviser, teacher or professor
4. Attend the Award Ceremony
Awardees will be required to attend and participate in the award ceremony, at the Hellenic Federation of NJ Banquet  (Complimentary ticket for awardee.) The awardee will be required to speak for one to two minutes regarding receipt of their scholarship
